PBF Division DescriptionsIntroductionThe purpose of the Division Descriptions is to explain the type of baseball played and the expectations of players and coaches at each divisional level. This information includes skills expected of the player at the beginning of the season, expectations for the player’s time and effort commitments to the team, coaches’ guidelines on playing time and position rotation, and coaches’ skill building goals for each division. Note: Division age levels are adhered to in most cases; however, PBF intends to place every interested player on a team where some level of personal success is within reach. When appropriate, the League will advocate for a player’s better placement. The Commissioner will work with the parents in these situations to discuss options. Shetland — Age 6 and under News Update Regarding Change in Age Cutoff DateUSA Baseball, the governing body for amateur baseball, recently approved a motion to adopt an April 30 age cutoff date for youth baseball, replacing the current August 1 cut-off. In keeping with PONY's recent decision, PBF WILL NOT implement this change until the Spring 2007 season. Consequently, the August 1 cut-off remains in place for the upcoming Spring 2006 season. If you have any questions, please contact PBF President Murray Davis at
