PBF Registration & Procedure

Welcome to Spring 2012 Baseball Registration!

Registration opens for Piedmont Residents Friday, October 14.

Please carefully read ALL instructions before registering. Our Spring Season runs from early March (February for Bronco and Pony) through early June. For more information about the season, and the commitment required for each age group, please read the PBF Division Descriptions. on the PBF website. Due to high demand and limited field space, PBF might not be able to accommodate as many players as in the last two years. Since Piedmont players have priority, this means that players from outside Piedmont, even if they have played in prior years, might not have a space in the league in Spring 2012. PBF will let waitlisted players know as soon as possible if there won’t be space and players should look into other local leagues.

PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT Thursday, November 3: Please join us for an informational session about the spring 2012 baseball season. Division commissioners will be outlining their plans for the upcoming season, and want to get your input. Parents of all age groups are welcome. The meeting will be divided into several sessions: Shetland (ages 5-6) and Pinto (ages 7-8) from 7-7:30; Mustang (ages 9-10) from 7:30-8; Bronco (ages 11-12) from 8-8:30; and Pony (ages 13-14) from 8:30-9 at the Ellen Driscoll Theater.

PIEDMONT-ONLY REGISTRATION Friday, October 14 - Friday, November 4: Piedmont residency or enrollment in a PUSD school is required. Residents should register during this window to secure spots. Spots fill on a first-come, first served basis. Waitlisting will occur when enrollment in any age group approaches capacity. Non-resident, non PUSD registrations received during this time will be canceled by our registrar, and a $25 fee will be assessed.

OPEN WAITLISTING: Saturday, November 5 - Sunday, November 20: All families registering at this time will be waitlisted. Payment is due to be placed on the waitlist; a full refund will be issued if we are not able to offer you a spot. We give priority to Piedmont residents and returning PBF players and coaches when accepting players off the waitlist. We also consider the registration date for choosing new players off the list. We will notify you by email as soon as possible if your child is offered a spot.

MANDATORY PLAYER EVALUATIONS Saturday, December 3: Save the date! Times and locations of evaluations vary by Division and will be announced by email to registered players. We do not evaluate Shetlands; all other registrants must attend. Evaluations are very important as they allow us to build balanced teams. Evaluations are not used to cut players.

The player's age on April 30, 2012 determines the player's division for the Spring 2012 season. All players must register in their age-appropriate division following age guidelines established by USA Baseball, the governing body for amateur baseball, and Pony Baseball, of which PBF is a member.

Registration, Fees and Payment Policies

Registrations are only accepted through our online system. All registrations are subject to review by the league, and payment is not a guarantee of participation. Placement in our program in any one season does not guarantee a spot in our program in subsequent seasons.

Registration Fees: Registration fees must be paid in full for a registration to be considered complete and for a player to be eligible for team selection. Fall Ball registration fees cover participation in games only. Spring registration fees cover participation in team practices and games as well as a uniform cap, belt, socks and pants. (Jerseys are on loan to players on most teams, and must be returned promptly at the end of each season.) To pay registration fees by check, make checks payable to Piedmont Baseball Foundation and mail to PBF c/o Dawn Pieper, 4486 Pleasant Valley Ct., Oakland, CA 94611 . Fees must be received for your child to be considered for team placement. Scholarships are available; please contact us at info@piedmontbaseball.org for scholarship application information.

Refunds and Cancellations: There is a $25 fee for any registration cancellation. You must cancel a registration prior to Player Evaluation Day (for Spring season) or team selection (for Fall Ball) to receive a refund (less the $25 processing fee).  Once teams have been selected, refunds will only be issued if a player is unable to play due to injury. Please contact us at info@piedmontbaseball.org to cancel a registration or to request a refund.

Returned Checks: There is a $25 fee for returned checks.

Late Fees: Spring Season late registrations automatically incur a $75 late fee. Late registrations severely impact our ability to project the number of teams, fields and coaches we need for a season, and impact our team selection process. Late registrations will be considered only on a space-available basis, and only if registration and late fees are paid in full.

Jersey Replacement Fees: All Fall Ball jerseys and most Spring season jerseys are loaned to players for the season; a jersey replacement fee of $75 will be charged for any loaned jersey that is not returned immediately after the end of the season.

Additional fees may apply to players who attend optional player development clinics and to players who play on traveling or tournament teams.
